Street food in Sicily was hugely popular well before food magazines made this type of food cool! Refered to by Sicilians as ‘schitiscchiu, meaning: consuming a rich meal in the open air and in good company.
Along every street corner, and in every market, kiosk and hole in the wall, there are stalls offering ready-to-eat local food. Everything is hyper-regional – with menu items made by ingredients that you can only find within hundreds of metres of the stall!
Chef Lino is paying homage to his traditions by bringing the street food of Sicily to Sydney! From PANI CUNZATU (warm bread with tomato, garlic and anchovies), to SANDE BECCAFICU (baked fresh srdine with cheese, raisins and pine nuts) to GRANITA MANDORLE (fresh almond granita with whipped cream) you’ll be in heaven at this fun and flavoursome street food party!
